Identity, authorship and scope
Digital Green Lean is an industrial transformation practice founded by Dr. Ignacio Sánchez Gatell. It connects Lean Manufacturing, Industry 4.0 and Circular Economy through people, culture and leadership.
The scientific concept and published maturity model were developed by Ignacio S. Gatell and Dr. Lucía Avella. The doctoral thesis was authored by Ignacio Sánchez Gatell under her supervision at the University of Oviedo and defended in June 2026. Consult the original publications, authorship and evidence.
The research foundation is in manufacturing. Applying its ideas in other settings requires adaptation; illustrative examples are not claims of validated results in every sector.
Start with the framework
This library brings together a concise explanation of Digital Green Lean and the primary research by Ignacio S. Gatell and Lucía Avella. It is a public educational resource, separate from the main website.
Research, attribution and scope
The concept was introduced in a scientific paper published online in November 2023 and in the 2024 journal issue. The maturity model followed in 2024, and the doctorate was defended at the University of Oviedo in June 2026.

Using this library
Use the guide as an introduction, and consult the original publications for methods, evidence and limitations. The examples explain tensions; they are not case-specific recommendations or guaranteed outcomes.
Collaboration and priority sectors
Priority sectors include industry and manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, healthcare, construction and real estate, retail, FMCG, government organisations, universities and educational centres. Other sectors are welcome where the capabilities fit the challenge; the approach and scope are adapted to each organisation.
Support can be online, on site or combined. Scope, resources, fees and duration are agreed for each engagement. Assessments, implementation, performance improvement, innovation, learning and technology support can be scoped around a defined challenge.
Start with an enquiry, followed by an online face-to-face conversation to understand the context.
